Equinox Minerals Limited (TSX:EQN)(ASX:EQN) (the "Corporation") is pleased to announce that the Corporation and the joint venture of Ausenco Limited ("Ausenco") and Bateman Engineering BV ("Bateman") have agreed and signed the final contract price for the Engineering, Procurement & Construction ("EPC") contract for the Lumwana Copper Project already under construction in the North Western province of Zambia.
Subsequent to the previously announced Guaranteed Maximum Price ("GMP") of US$417.4 million and following final definition of scope, optimisation of the process plant design, further detailed engineering, implementation and risk mitigation programs, the Corporation announces that the total final fixed-price EPC is US$407.6 million, inclusive of funds spent to date. The fixed-price EPC contract with Ausenco and Bateman includes the project capital cost, engineering, contingency, escalation, the EPC fee and represents the final contracted price.
Citizens whose cars have been damaged after driving through sewer construction areas have had claims against Muskegon Township's contractor summarily refused under a policy adopted by the township that came under fire Monday. After receiving an "astronomical" number of insurance claims for vehicle damage, township leaders agreed to allow the contractor to decide which claims to reject, forcing car owners to file claims with their own insurance companies, said Community Development Director Dave Fisher. The township board asked staff to review that policy after hearing a complaint about it Monday. Mathew Ronk, 3381 White Eagle Drive, complained the policy allows the contractor to be "judge and jury" when damage is reported. Fisher said the policy was adopted after about 400 claims -- for damage to such items as tie rods, tire rims and vehicle computers -- were made, 100 of which are still outstanding.
DUBAI, Oct 16 Asia Pulse - The Abu Dhabi Investment House (ADIH) has announced that its $US600 million project in the centre of Beirut will go ahead, and four world-renowned architects are already in the Lebanese capital to finalise the design master plan. The architects are in Beirut to take part in the final (of four) design workshops for Beirut Gate, which will be an integrated commercial and residential sea view project in the Beirut Central District, commonly known as Solidere. The development will comprise eight plots spread over 21,448 square metres and a built-up area of 178,500 square metres overlooking the famous Martyrs' Square of Lebanon, downtown Beirut and the Mediterranean. Announcing the project, Nicholas Fraser, ADIH's Executive Director of Real Estate said: "We are excited that this project is ready to proceed and we are sure this development will provide a major boost for the people of Beirut and the economy of Lebanon.
The scope of this Performance Work Statement (PWS) provides comprehensive communications services to support the Office of Strategic Analysis and Communications (OSAC) in achieving the communication goals and strategies of NASA and Marshall Space Flight Center (Marshall). To that end, OSAC will execute an overarching communication strategy that includes clearly and consistently communicating NASA's strategic vision and guidance, and Marshall's direction, roles, capabilities, and expectations - internally and externally - to various stakeholder groups. In accomplishing these communication activities that directly support the advancement of Agency goals and Marshall mission assignments, the contractor shall provide communications related support as outlined below. The contractor shall support Marshall in implementing and maintaining a strategic communications capability that integrates and aligns the Center's communications with Agency direction to enable informed communications and manage effective stakeholder relationships for advancement of NASA's strategic goals.
